Build an FAQ block that gets quoted.
Free · your text stays in your browser · copy or download
Type your questions and answers, or paste them as Q: and A: text. You get an accessible FAQ block built on details and summary, the matching FAQPage markup, and a warning for every answer that is too short, too long or repeated.
Your questions and answers
One question and one answer per row. A blank line begins a fresh paragraph in an answer. Link with [text](https://…).
Add a question and an answer to start your FAQ block.
Or paste it all at once

What the warnings look for
Missing question mark. A question that ends without one reads as a label. Add the mark.
Answer under eight words. “Yes.” is a nod, not something to quote. Add the number, the condition or the next step.
Answer over a hundred and twenty words. Long answers bury the fact. Give the short version here and link to the page that holds the detail.
Repeated questions or answers. Two entries for one question split the answer. Keep one.
A hedge or a pronoun at the start. “It depends” and “Well,” delay the answer. A lone “It” cannot be quoted without its question. Name the subject.
Rows with only a question or only an answer are left out of the block until they are complete. The full method is in How to write answers people can quote.
Putting the block on your page
Paste the HTML where the questions should appear, inside the page body. Paste the markup in the same page, anywhere in the body or head. Keep them together: the markup may only describe what the block shows. Use one block per page, because the heading id must be unique.
If you edit an answer on the page later, edit it in the markup too, or come back, change it here and copy both again. Then run the page through a structured data checker to confirm the markup reads cleanly.
Questions about the builder
Does my text leave my browser?
No. The block is built on this page, in your browser, and your text is never sent to us. A draft is kept in this browser so a refresh does not lose it, and Clear all removes it.
Do I need both the HTML and the FAQPage markup?
Use both. The HTML is what visitors read. The markup states the same questions and answers in a structured form, and it must describe only what the visible block shows. That is why the builder writes the two together from one list.
How many questions should one block have?
Three to ten is plenty for most pages. Pick the questions your customers really ask, and give each one an answer that stands alone. The builder holds up to 60.
Can I put links in an answer?
Yes. Write [link text](https://example.com/page) or paste a full web address and it becomes a link. Anything else is shown as plain text, which keeps the markup and the page identical.
Will the block match the look of my site?
The default style inherits your fonts and colours and adds light lines and a plus and minus marker. Choose boxed for a card look, or no styles if you would rather write your own.
Is the block usable with a keyboard and a screen reader?
Yes. It is built on the browser's own details and summary elements, so each question is a focusable control that opens with Enter or Space, at least 44 pixels tall, with a visible focus outline.
