What each mark checks

Every web address is a full address. Links in markup are read away from your page, so a path like /logo.png points nowhere. Each one starts with https:// and names the domain.1

1 schema.org: the LocalBusiness type

The phone number uses international format: a plus sign, the country code, then digits only, such as +14155550123. If you type spaces, brackets or dashes, one tap clears them.2

2 ITU-T E.164: international numbering plan

Times use the 24-hour clock with two digits each side of the colon. A closing time earlier than the opening time means the business stays open past midnight.3

3 Documentation: local business structured data

Each holiday is its own dated entry with a first and last day, so a closure on 25 December never overwrites your regular weekly hours.4

4 Documentation: local business structured data

Markup describes what visitors can see. Keep the name, address, phone and hours on the page identical to the tag, and change both in the same edit.5

5 Documentation: structured data policies

Common questions

Which business type should I choose?

Pick the closest match in the list, such as Bakery, Dentist or Plumber. If nothing fits, choose Other local business, the general type, which is always valid.

Can I enter a lunch break or two sessions in a day?

Yes. Use Add a second block on that day and enter the second pair of times. The two blocks must not overlap.

How do I mark a holiday closure?

Add the date under Holidays and special days and leave it on Closed. For a longer break, fill in the last day as well, and each date range becomes its own entry.

Where does the script tag go?

Anywhere inside the head of the page that shows your address and hours, usually the home or contact page. One tag on that page is enough.
